15 Pet Grief Resources, A Travel App, A Cheaper Face Lotion, and Food-Centric Gift Ideas

I put this Grief List together last week for a friend of a friend who lost their pup to cancer. I thought I would share it with you all in case someone you know needs it (or maybe you need it yourself). Grief has felt joyous this past week. I’ve been able to think about Desh and smile. I’ve been able to appreciate him and our time together. I’ve noticed the space that I have for other animals and humans because he’s not here. I knew someday I’d feel this way. It feels nice to meet myself here as planned.

This list is for those who are anticipating the loss of a pet and those who already have. I’m sure some of these would be helpful for those losing or those who have lost another human too. I hope it helps someone else feel less alone!

Of The Week:

On Sale, Too: I’ve been trying to diversify how I’m learning Spanish (tutor, Duolingo, books, and other courses). This course looks fun!

2024 Travelers: This app looks helpful for trip planning.

A Book: Self promotion without social media

Face Lotion: I’ve tried both of the Dieux face moisturizers and I do love them but I feel like I run out of them SO quickly. I’m giving this a try. Not because it’s the same but it is more affordable! Will report back.

Take Five and Eat Lunch

  • I’ve been eyeing these since my client Katie mentioned that eating artichokes it Italy is unlike anything else.
  • I love citrus and meat together so this recipe caught my eye.
  • Japanese snack subscription.
  • For the butter lover.
  • I fell back in love with cheese balls thanks to my Aunt Jennie!

Talk to you next Sunday,

It's great to be in your inboxes after three weeks off. I really enjoyed re-thinking this newsletter and all that it can be. If you've been getting my emails for awhile, I don't think you'll feel like it's that different. And if you're new(er), hey! I wanted something new and fresh to re-engage myself, honestly. I think this evolved format will let me share more of me. And expand more on the things that I link out to! I hope it feels like a friend date where we only have an hour but we try to...

This week marks one year since Desh died. I am typically in the Christmas spirit but this year it took a lot of eye rolling and irritability to even get the tree up. He died right near that tree. But it’s the tree that I have and it gives off great light (it’s pink). I don’t want to take a break or time off for the holidays. I want to keep working and live my regular life. But this Thursday, on the actual anniversary, I’ll break the routine and stroll the path of grief. Before I lost anyone...

I've had a few of you ask me to share how I write this email. I've been writing this email every Sunday since December 2019. This month marks four years! My method is very simple. I write the email in a Google doc first so that I can search for anything. The Google doc is 304 pages long at this point. Throughout the week I save things on Instagram or in Pocket. On Saturday or Sunday, I also read though newsletters that I subscribe to and will include a link from there if it's worth sharing....
